Musings of a retired teacher
Sounds like you have been or are coming to a big decision Dan. I hope all is well with you and that you've been content with the outcome. Be happy, dear man!
Dan I too have been wondering what is simmering however have left you to tell us when you are ready...I am grateful for your company and good idea to post a pic of my father.
Hello Dan,I've also been thinking of you ..and aware of something going on for you ..even from over here.Sending love and light,Sarah Lulu
Hi all,Thank you for your concern. I love my friends in the Southern Hemisphere! What was simmering was this: I needed to ask to rescind my letter of intent to retire from teaching. An important reason was to help my daughter through a rough patch. Asking the school board to take me back wasn't a no-brainer at least from a fiduciary point of view as I could be replaced by a teacher costing the district a lot less than I do.At a special School Board meeting last Monday I got my job back, and I am very, very happy to be able to keep working.
Ah, I wondered if it was something to do with that. Take care not to pour ALL of yourself, tho' Dan...I know you (like me) have that tendency... Save some for YOU! And I just listened to that vidclip all the way through. Gosh, it's wonderful! Thanks for sharing it! It reminded me a bit of that 'Where in the World is Matt' one.
Katherine,Yes, I enjoyed the clip a great deal. It shows the ONENESS of humanity. As for teaching. I try to be 100% present at work. And 100% present at home.
You have a heart of gold Mr G. But as K says please take care and time for yourself too, as I know you love doing all those extracurricular activities in addition to teaching.Happy Days
