Musings of a retired teacher
"Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
Oh how I LOVE that quote!! Thanks for reminding me!
everybody matters as indirectly they are a part of you ;) i like this quote too... it gets you thinking
Wish I'd written that!
Jenny, you're welcome!
Robyn, how right you are. I find some voices inside and outside my head are more worthy of listening to than others. The critic in me commands more of my attention than he deserves based on the amount of help v hindrance he's offered me.
Dr. Seuss kept his child-wisdom-mind near and dear to his heart, didn't he?
Psychotic people believe this fully. They run around screaming obscenities and broadcasting their delusions.I like the side of this statement that Seuss probably meant, and I think we all know that, as Robyn said, all people matter. That is the trouble with sound bit aphorisms, the caveats are sometimes crucial. Thanks for the quote.
Sabio, good point. I hadn't thought of it that way, but, you're right: a sound bit aphorism like this (or any other) can only be partially true. I suppose this one speaks to those who have critics inner and outer than keep them from being as whole and wonderful as they would wish to be.
